Lex-Ray Privacy and Cookies

Lex-Ray is operated by Simmons & Simmons Solutions Limited, a Simmons & Simmons group company. The Simmons & Simmons Data Protection Privacy Notice explains how Simmons & Simmons and its group companies collect, use, share and protect personal data, and how you can exercise your rights.

What Lex-Ray records

When you create an account we hold your name, email address and sign-in identifiers. When you accept the customer terms, and when you opt in to a paid tier, we record your account, the version of the terms, the time, the network address the acceptance was made from, and the tier and price you were shown, as evidence of your agreement.

Content you submit to Lex-Ray, such as notes, saved work and searches, is stored to provide the service to you and is handled as the customer terms describe.

Product-specific cookies and storage

Lex-Ray uses only strictly necessary first-party cookies and browser storage. We use these technologies to provide and secure the service, including sign-in, access control, session security, product performance, local caching, content protection and watermarking.

The browser technologies we use may include cookies, localStorage, IndexedDB, service-worker cache storage and similar local storage.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies, marketing cookies or third-party analytics cookies in Lex-Ray. Because these technologies are strictly necessary to provide and secure the service, they are not optional and are not switched off through a cookie consent banner.

Operational telemetry

We use first-party operational telemetry and logs to monitor performance, diagnose faults, protect the service and understand usage of the product. Azure Application Insights is configured not to use cookies or persistent browser storage for telemetry.
